Game 1 

 

Game moved to Dred Scott in Bloomington.

Final Score : Bloomington Eagles 3 -  Edina Grays 2 (Final)

Bloomington's Al Moore hit a 3 run homer in the top of the 8th to give the Eagles the victory.

Game 2 

Final Score : Minneapolis Brewers 4  Le Center Braves 3 

Minneapolis Brewers score 3 in the bottom of the ninth to win the game.

Game 3  Game moved to Bloomington's Dred Scott.

Final Score : St Louis Park Cardinals 14 Webster Rookies 1 (8 innings)

The Cardinals received a masterful pitching performance from Doug Hansen and won handily 14-1. John Miller hit a 2-run home run for the Cardinals and Derek Swenson had one "go over" but it was ruled  a ground rule double when the umpire was unable to see the play. Jeff Anderson made a one hand running catch of a drive down the left field line for the defensive play of the game.

Game 5

 

Final Score : Loretto Sox 3 Shakopee Chiefs 2

Jerry Hersey singled in two runs for Loretto who were outhit by the Chiefs 6-3. Shakopee threatened in the ninth with two runners on but Loretto was able to squash the rally. 

Loretto's Mike Nentl enjoying a few moments in the stands following his team's victory and also celebrating his 42nd Birthday. Happy Birthday Mike !!

Game 7

 

Final Score:       Mayer Mutcatz 5 Morris Legends 2
Mayers Larry Beno delivers a pitch in the fifth inning of the game with the Morris Legends. Jeff Arnold just singled in 2 runs for Morris in the 7th. Bob Boesche of the Mudcatz  hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth for Mayer's second run.
Game 8 Final Score: Eden Prairie Lion's Tap 11 New Hope Bandits 1 (7 innings)

Lyndell Frey fashioned a neat three-hitter and Eden Prairie Lion's Tap rolled to an 11-1 victory over the New Hope Bandits, courtesy of a nine-run second inning. Kyle Aug and Carlos Ubiera were 3-4 with Aug collecting 3 RBI's and ending the game in the seventh inning with a tape measure homerun over the football press box in center field at Belle Plaine. Frey had two hits and two RBI's, Rod Helling had two hits and an RBI and Greg Elder had two hits in the same inning. The "big inning" started when Frey got trapped off third base with the score 2-1 and then escaping on an error.

St Peter's Ron Hill warmed up in the Bull Pen prior to tonite's 6:00 game Eden Prairie Manager Mark Comstock thinks carefully about his line-up before the game with St Peter. Eden Prairie veteran, Bob Cass patiently awaits this evening tilt with the Saints from St Peter.
 

League umpires review ground rules with St Peter manager Tom Burg (center) and Eden Prairie's Keith Waterstreet prior to the 6:00 matchup.

Final Score  : St Peter Saints  10    Eden Prairie Padres  3

Randy Stucky tripled and Marty Davis doubled him home in the top of the second for the first St Peter run of the game. In the top of the third, Jim Sullivan and Lee Pell walked for St Peter to open the inning. Pete Moulton then doubled and Rich Ryan singled to score three more runs for St Peter.

Eden Prairie came back in the bottom of the third, with three runs of their own on singles by Bob Moore, Dave Miller and Bob Cass and helped by a couple of St Peter errors.

St Peter pushed across another run in the fifth on 3 walks and a fielder's choice.

In the top of the eighth, Rich Ryan led off with a home run to give the Saints a 6-3 lead. St Peter went on to score 4 more runs to win the game 10-3 and advance to round two.

Belle Plaine opens scoring with a walk, stolen base and single by Paul Lambrecht to drive in 1st run

Doug Arvidson doubled with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 5th to give the Hasbeens a 2-1 leadouts in the bottom of the 5th

Belle Plaine mounted a potential threat in the top of the ninth when Belle Plaine pitcher Kevin Studnicka reached first base on an error with two outs. Buster Brazil then hit a monstrous fly ball center field, but it was hauled in at the base of the fence with a masterful over the shoulder catch by center fielder Perry Becker to end the game. 

Randy Burkman of the Hasbeens pitched a complete game two hitter to earn the victory.

Eden Prairie Lion's Tap veteran pitcher Dave Sobiech warms up on the sidelines before this afternoons game with Oakdale. Sixty-Five year old Harry Bongard shown prior to the game. Earlier this year, Bongard was named "Mr Baseball" by the city of Eden Prairie recognizing his contributions to the game for many years.

Eden Prairie opened the scoring in the top of the first with a 4 run outbusrt highlighted by Kyle Augs 2 run home run over the left center field fence.

Oakdale countered in the bottom of the first as Rickey Michel doubled and later scored on an error.

In the top of the third, Eden Prairie's Mike Max was hit by a pitch, Carlos Ubiera reached on an error and Kyle Aug Doubled them both home. Dave Fuecker singled and Greg Elder hit a home run to score two more runs for EP.

Paul Lucktenberg doubled down the left field line for Oakdale in the bottom of the 7th and later scored on a single to right by Reid Tschumperlin. Lucktenberg 

Oakdale erupted for 6 runs in the bottom of the 8th. Highlights were Rickey Michels bases loaded double of the right center field wall and Paul Lucktenberg's 2 run HR.

Union Hill opened the scoring when Mark Gill drove in Ron Krautkremer.

Alex countered with three in the bottom of the first with the big hit being Ryan Bergau's double off the left field wall.

Bill Ziegler got a hit in the 7th and later scored on a base hit to give Alex a 4-1 lead

Dennis Seurer hits a 2 run home run in the top of the 8th to cut the margin to 4-3.

Jerry Peer led the Eagles hitting attack with three doubles and a single in a perfect day at the plate. Craig Esselman, Scott McNally and Garbo Barbo each had two hits for Bloomington. Chris Boosalis went the first five innings and notched the victory with three and one half innings of relief help from Jeff Peer and a supurb closing performance by John Koalbars.
